History of Deca Durabolin
In 1960 Nandrolone decanoate was first marketed as Deca Durabolin by the pharmaceutical company Organon. It was developed as an alternative to testosterone that was safer and longer-lasting. Initially used to aid in post-surgery recovery, muscle wasting diseases, severe burns, osteoporosis and anemia. This was because of Deca’s ability to create new red blood cells and stimulate new muscle growth.
In the 1970’s and 1980’s Deca Durabolin was used by powerlifters, athletes and bodybuilders looking for performance enhancement. Prized for it’s mild side effects and ability to relieve joint pain, Deca was often stacked with other steroids for synergistic gains.

Dosages & Cycle
- Men: Beginners start with 100-200mg per week. Intermediate and advanced will take 300-400mg weekly, while 600mg to 800mg is reserved for the most experienced. Cycle length is 8 to 12 weeks.
- Women: 50mg per week for 4-6 weeks to minimize side effects. Some advanced users may use 100mg/week, but this increases the chance of side effects.
Post Cycle Therapy
Men should run a testosterone base alongside of Deca to maintain normal androgen levels. After you finish your Deca cycle, you should wait 2 to 3 weeks for it to clear your system and then use Clomid at 100mg per day for the next 2 to 3 weeks to restore your hormonal balance.
Stacking Deca Durabolin
When you are using Deca, you should always stack it with Testosterone Cypionate to help avoid hormone suppression, this is the most common stack for beginners. If you are looking for rapid strength and size gains, add Dianabol to your Test and Deca base. Advanced users looking for massive strength and muscle mass increases will want to stack Deca with Testosterone Enanthate, and Trenbolone Enanthate.
When stacking, make sure to also run an Aromatase inhibitor during your cycle such as Arimidex.
